NewsTOPGUARD returns ukrainian journalist arrested in Russia home

TV program "SPETSCOR" journalist Eugene Agarkov arrested in Russia has been released and returned home.

Eugene Agarkov journalist conducted investigation concerning Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko arrested by Russian security services, illegally smuggled into Russia and detained in Voronezh jail.

Eugene was formally charged with illegal journalistic activities in Russia due to the lack of accreditation while filming. In fact it was a political order since his investigation started shedding light on illegal actions of Russian intelligence services against Nadezhda Savchenko.

After 10 days spent in custody, which caused a great resonance in the mass media and society, Russian authorities were forced to release a prisoner.

July 29 at 23:30 Eugene Agarkov crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border through the checkpoint "Goptovka", Kharkiv region accompanied by the Consul of the Embassy of Ukraine in Russia Gennady Semenovich Breskalenko and TopGuard employees delivered Eugene home to Kyiv with operational assistance of Ukrainian Security Service.
