TopGuard Lawyers Participate in Annual Criminal Law and Procedure Forum
During the forum, many pressing issues were raised. Among them were judicial reform and the lustration of judges, problems related to bringing those responsible for the killings on Maidan to justice, standards for the quality of free secondary legal aid in criminal proceedings, and other important topics.
Traditionally, the forum brought together many authoritative lawyers and representatives of related fields, including the Military and Prosecutor General’s Offices, the Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, the Office of the President of Ukraine, judges of the High Specialized Court of Ukraine and the Supreme Court of Ukraine, as well as the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
Employees of the Legal Department of the TopGuard Group of Companies also took part in this forum.
According to the Director of the Legal Support and Attorney Defense Department, attorney S.A. Galkin, holding such events with the participation of representatives of prosecution offices, courts, and other state institutions helps to better understand their mindset and interpretation of specific legal situations. This is critically important for building the most effective strategy for representing clients in relations with these institutions.
As a reminder, the Annual Winter Lawyers Forum has been held since 2011. It traditionally serves as a platform for discussing the most acute issues in the field of law, exchanging professional experience, and improving the qualifications of lawyers.
