TopGuard – Partner of the National MMA Team 2016
The 2016 MMA World Championship (mixed martial arts), held in Macau, China, has come to an end. Another page has been written in Ukraine’s national sporting achievements. Ukrainian athletes won two silver medals and secured 4th place in the overall team standings — the best result in the history of Ukrainian MMA. We are, without a doubt, proud of these achievements.
We are proud to be involved in shaping this new chapter of Ukraine’s sports history. It is especially gratifying that the National Federation of Mixed Martial Arts of Ukraine appointed Oleksandr Dudochkin (note: head of special training for the TopGuard team) as the head coach of the national team. Most likely, this is one of the key reasons for such outstanding results. It is also worth noting that the national team’s training camp was held directly at the TopGuard training complex, Aurum Sports Club.
Out of seven fighters representing the national team, two TopGuard team members defended the honor of the country: International Master of Sports Elnur Veliyev (66 kg) and International Master of Sports Dmytro Orlov (61 kg). The silver medals for Ukraine were won by Elnur Veliyev and Idris Gezalov (84 kg) from Dynamo Sports Club in Dnipro. In the finals, Ukrainian fighters lost on points to athletes from Russia.
Congratulations to everyone without whom Ukraine would not have achieved these victories! Congratulations to the medalists, the team, sparring partners, and everyone who gave a part of themselves to achieve this common result — and, of course, to the national team coach Oleksandr Dudochkin!
