International Economic Forum 2017 Under TopGuard Security
On October 5–6, one of the key business events of the year took place in the capital — the Kyiv International Economic Forum (KIEF). For the fourth consecutive year, economists, politicians, business leaders, opinion makers, and diplomats from many countries gathered at the forum.
This year’s forum was no exception. During KIEF, serious issues affecting both Ukraine and the global economy were discussed. The main theme of the forum was: “Ukraine and the World in a New Economic Reality: How to Respond to Change and Seize Opportunities.”
Within the forum framework, participants discussed the impact of major political events on the economy, including Ukraine’s economy. How did the election of Donald Trump as President of the United States affect Ukraine? Did Brexit influence relations between the United Kingdom and Ukraine, as well as the economies of EU countries?
Leading economists, business representatives, and politicians attempted to answer these and many other critical questions. In total, the forum brought together 120 speakers and around 1,500 guests from 30 countries.
Opening the forum, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman stated that Ukraine is increasingly asserting itself on the global stage. Given the large number of skilled professionals capable of creating innovative products, it is essential to provide them with proper working conditions.
Over the two days of the Kyiv International Economic Forum, participants attended 20 panel discussions and 10 round tables. Topics included green entrepreneurship, agri-business technologies, financing of the real sector, tax and financial reforms, digital technologies, business education, and other key areas.
The event was held at the Parkovy Exhibition and Convention Center. Considering the scale and duration of the forum, as well as the status of invited guests, it was crucial to ensure the highest level of security and comfort for all participants and visitors.
